Basic Resume animation (bookmarking)
Import the file named “resumebasic.swf” as an animation by using Shift+Ctrl+A
Or from the Captivate Menu, Insert, Animation. On the first frame of the movie.
The first time you import the resume basic animation you will see a warning

Click Yes to continue to load the animation, the warning is due to the file requiring access to variables contained in the root of the captivate project. It will not affect the running of your project. If you select No then the animation will not be loaded.
The Animation Properties window will open click the Options tab and use the settings below

Display for: = rest of project
Appear after = 0.2 second (will not not function if set lower than 0.1)
Effect = No transition
When imported you will not see the actual animation you will see a small 100/100 transparent swf, this can be moved anywhere on the slide, the actual resume popup will appear in the center of the slide once published, if you change the size from 100/100 then that WILL effect the size/position of the popup!
What does it do? Creates a flash cookie (sharedobject) that is temporarily stored on the viewer computer if the viewer exits the Captivate movie before the end then the next time they view the movie they will be asked if they would like to continue from the last slide they viewed. If they select Yes they will taken to that slide, if they select No the movie will start from the beginning.
- It works for swf/html output
-
What it does not do?
- Will not resume past a question slide unless quiz is set to Optional
- Will not resume direct to question score slide
- AS2 Only

I am now able to see the "Welcome Back" resume basic animation work in the Flash Player, but not in the HTML. The course that I created in CP4 to run only on the CD opens only up in the browser with the HTML file - is there a way to run my CD in autorun with only playing the Flash Player file so that the resume basic animation works? Thank you in advance for your time.
Cheers,
Kevin

I have been looking for this type of resume animation and a colleague directed me to your site. The project I'm working on uses Flash animations that are in AS3. I was wondering if you have a similar animation that works with AS3 or can direct me to someone else who might have one.
Thank you in advance for your time,
Charlene

I was directed to your site through the Adobe Forum. I have followed your PDF instructions and inserted the animation with the settings of rest of project; start after .2 secs. I want to be able to resume in my CD-based CP4 course after I have taken the CD out and put the CD back in later. I don't see the animation when I go back into the course. Could it be my settings for my TOC in CP4?
Cheers,
Kevin
P.S. Thank you so much for your very helpful website!
